Streamwood Park District
The Park District offers "Goldenagers" Senior Club which provides a variety of programs and outings for its members.  The Club meets at Park Place on Wednesdays and Fridays between 12:00 pm and 3:00 pm.  They meet in the Senior Center on the lower level.  For more information call the Park District at (630) 372-PARK or visit the Streamwood Park District website.

Elgin Community College
ECC offers a number of classes for seniors at the Duraco Computer Center in Village Hall.  Classes include Beginning WordTM for Seniors, Beginning Computers for Seniors and Scared Stiff for Computers.  For information or registration call (630) 213-6311 or visit the Elgin Community College website.

Hanover Township
The Township operates a variety of programs geared toward seniors. These include Dial-A-Ride services and Meals-on-Wheels.  For more information contact the Township offices at (630) 837-0301 or visit the Hanover Township website.

Annual Community Paint-A-Thon
Every year, volunteers from throughout the northwest suburbs help to paint the outside of houses or garages for seniors or the disabled who may otherwise not be able to do so themselves.  Application must be made in order to participate.  The Community Paint-A-Thon is held in September.  For more information, call (847) 253-5500.

Crime Tip Hotline

The Streamwood Police Department has a dedicated line, available 24 hours a day, for citizens to report information on criminal or suspicious activity.  Citizen reports are anonymous, unless the caller would like to leave their name and number in order to be contacted by a police officer.

The Barn
The Barn is a center that caters to seniors as well as persons with disabilities.  The Barn is located at 231 Civic Drive in Schaumburg.  To join, just visit the center.  The Barn offers:

Streamwood offers a wide variety of opportunities for seniors.Meals - A nutritious, well-balanced lunch meal is served every weekday to fit everybody's needs.
Bingo Games - Bingo is offered three days per week.
Movies - A monthly movie is presented (courtesy of the local library).
Parties and Outings - Specialty theme parties, trips and outings are offered.
Clinics and Seminars - Bi-monthly clinics and regularly-scheduled medical presentations are made available. 

There is a nominal charge for the lunch meals (ranging from $2.15 to $2.25); it is required that all lunch patrons register in advance.  Trips and other special features also have some cost associated with them, depending on the event itself.  All other activities are free of charge.
