FREE health screenings at Wellness Clinics open to the public at the Hanover Township Community Relations Office Clinic in Elgin every Tuesday and at the Astor Avenue Clinic in Hanover Park every Friday.  You must call to schedule an appointment ahead of time to ensure all the supplies needed for your appointment with the Nurse are available. The Community Relations Office Clinic in Elgin is at 899 Jay Street, Elgin, and the Astor Avenue Clinic is at 7431 Astor Avenue, Hanover Park.  Call (630) 483-5665 to schedule an appointment.
Got Art? Art Exhibit at Hanover Township Senior Center through the month of August. See hundreds of pieces created by seniors in art classes held at the Senior Center. Hanover Township Senior Center is located at 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett.

Ask a Pharmacist Program (Free) at Hanover Township Senior Center on Friday, Sept. 5, from 10am-12noon. Hanover Township partners with KidCare Medical for children's Back to School immunization, physical and dental clinic on Sept. 11, 2014, 4-7pm.  For newborns to 18 years of age.  $25 per physical exam; $5 per shot; $15 per dental exam. The clinic will take place at the Senior Center, 240 S. Rt. 59, Bartlett.  Walk-ins welcome or call (630) 483-5665 to register.
Mary Poppins Sing-Along at Poplar Creek Library on September 13 at 1:30pm. (Ages 4+) You and your family are invited to sing along at the screening of Mary Poppins in the Children's Department. (Registration required) Poplar Creek Library is located at 1405 S. Park Boulevard, Streamwood.
On September 13, the Streamwood Fire Department will be offering a CPR class for healthcare providers who need certification for employment.  The cost is $50/residents, $65/non-residents. For more information, please contact the Fire Department at (630) 736-3650.

Join the Knights of Columbus on Saturday, October 4, at 8:30 am for a 5K Run/1M Walk. The Knights Challenge Run is USATF Certified. Medals will be presented to the top three male and female participants in each age category. Registration starts at 7:00 am at St. John the Evangelist (550 S. AARP Smart Driver Course for seniors will be offered by the Streamwood Police Department, 401 E. Irving Park Road, November 11 and 13 (must attend both days) at 9:00 am. Yardwaste pickup is seasonal and begins with the regular April trash pickup and continues through the middle of December.  Advanced Disposal will take Christmas trees and wreaths on the first three pick-ups in January. Yardwaste can only be put in Kraft paper yardwaste bags or dedicated cans with "Yardwaste" sticker; biodegradable plastic bags are not accepted.
