Contractor Licensing

NEW LAW - PLEASE NOTE:  A new State of Illinois lead law requires contractors, property managers and others paid to replace windows or renovate residential houses, apartments, and child-occupied facilities, built prior to 1978, to be certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This new law is intended to protect children from leaded dust that may result from disturbing lead-based paint.  The law goes into effect on April 22, 2010.  The State will be offering meetings to educate the public about these new regulations. All contractors doing work in the Village of Streamwood must be licensed by the Village.  An application for the license is available in the Forms and Applications page in the Reference Desk section of our website.

 Sub-Contractor - Plumber

1. State of Illinois License
2. City of Chicago License (if not State licensed)
3. State of Illinois Registration number
4. Cross-Connection License (copy)
5. Fee - $30.00 administrative processing fee will be applied starting January 1, 2010

 Sub-Contractor - Electrician

1. $10,000 License and Permit Bond (Original)
2. Certificate of Insurance (Original)
3. Electrical License or Supervising Electrician's Card (copy)*
4. Fee - $50.00

Notice: All License and Permit Bonds and Certificates of Insurance must be originals and made out to the Village of Streamwood as holder.
