Community Development
Overview
The Community Development Department is responsible for all
building, zoning, and property maintenance functions within
the Village. The Community Development Department enforces all building,
zoning and property maintenance codes. The Community
Development Department works in cooperation with the Fire and
Public Works Departments to provide business occupancy and
construction inspections throughout the year. Department staff
provide assistance and administration to the Zoning Board of
Appeals.
Department inspectors review new and existing developments and structures to ensure compliance with required construction standards. The Department operates a property maintenance inspection programs, which focuses on existing structures and developments in residential, commercial and industrial areas. The Department also operates and administers the Rental Residential Licensing Program.
