Community Development Overview
The Community Development Department is responsible for all
planning, zoning, economic development, building and property
maintenance functions within the Village. The primary

existing developments are consistent with the overall
development goals of the Village. Emphasis is placed on

attract new, and retain current, commercial and industrial
developments.
The Community Development Department enforces all building,
zoning and property maintenance codes. The Community
Development Department works in cooperation with the Fire and
Public Works Departments to provide business occupancy and
construction inspections throughout the year. Inspectors
review new and existing developments and structures to ensure
compliance with required construction standards.
The Community Development Department also operates a
property maintenance inspection programs. To augment
this program, the Department administers the Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) Single-Family Residential
