Child Safety Seat Checks

Our Department has AAA Nationally Certified Child Safety Seat Technicians who will check your safety seat at the Streamwood Police Department. Call (630) 736-3700 for an appointment.

Child Passenger Safety Tips: 4 STEPS 4 KIDS

Step 1	Rear facing child seats for children from birth to at least 20 pounds and at least one year of age
Step 2	Forward-facing child seat for children over 20 pounds and at least one year old to about 40 pounds and age four
Step 3	Belt-positioning booster seats for children from about 40-80 pounds until 8 years of age.
Step 4	Seat belts for children over 8 years and large enough for the belt to fit correctly: at least 4'9" tall and about 80 pounds
