Citizens Police Academy

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a police officer?  Do you want to know how an investigation really develops?  Would you like to view the department from a unique perspective?  Consider joining a Citizen’s Police Academy.

The Citizen’s Police Academy offers residents new insights into how police officers perform their duties and serve the community.  It is also a great way to foster better communication between citizens and police through education.  The Academy consists of ten classes focused on topics such as Crime Scene Preservation, Neighborhood Based Policing, Traffic Stops, Special Operations, Domestic Violence Investigations, and more.

Our next course starts in January, 2014. Any residents of Streamwood, aged 21 years or older, is welcome to apply. Applications will be available at the Streamwood Police Department starting on Monday, November 4. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 22. Applications are also available on-line here.

If you have any questions, please contact Commander Randy Hart at (630) 736-3706 or by email rhart@streamwood.org.
