Citizens Police Academy

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a police officer?  Do you want to know how an investigation really develops?  Would you like to view the department from a unique perspective?  Consider joining a Citizen’s Police Academy. 

The Citizen’s Police Academy offers residents new insights into how police officers perform their duties and serve the community.  It is also a great way to foster better communication between citizens and police through education.  The Academy consists of eight classes focused on topics such as Crime Scene Preservation, Firearm Operations, Traffic Stops, Domestic Violence Investigations, and more. 

Our next course starts in January, 2013, but classes are filled at this time.  New classes may be offered later in the year.  Applications are available at the Streamwood Police Department or on-line here.
