Streamwood Police File Charges in Shooting

In the early morning of Sunday, March 21st, 2010, officers were called to the 300 block of Green Knoll Lane in reference to a call of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located one victim suffering from a graze wound to his leg and damage to the entry point of an attached townhome. The home was occupied by numerous subjects attending a late night party.

Investigators were summoned to the scene and the ensuing investigation revealed a disturbance had originated inside that ultimately lead to a subject leaving the party only to return with an uninvited guest. Once entry was denied back inside the home, a shot was fired into the residence resulting in the aforementioned wound and damage to the home.

Numerous subjects were detained at the party and/or located elsewhere for questioning. One subject was charged with Attempted Home Invasion and Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. He is identified as Cortez Wamble, 18 years of age. He resides in Elgin, IL
