Power Outage Update

Release date: 7/12/2011

The July 11 storm caused significant damage across our area.  ComEd called this storm the 2nd worse event in their history.  Crews are working hard to restore power.  Your patience and cooperation are appreciated.

As of 10:00 am, Tuesday, July 12, over 200,000 customers in our area were still without power.  Included in this total are hospitals, nursing homes, police and fire stations, as well as water treatment facilities.  These critical uses get 1st priority from ComEd. Once these customers are back up and running, they can concentrate on resident and business outages.

Streamwood has roughly 200 customers without power.  Outages are scattered across the Village.  There are no large concentrated areas without power.  ComEd crews are working in the area to restore power as soon as possible.

Please cooperate with work crews.  Ensure access to power poles.  If crews leave debris, please be assured that they will come back to collect trees and branch debris, once all customers are restored power.  If you have any questions, or to report debris or downed lines, call 1-800-EDISON-1.
