Infant Death Ruled Homicide

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has determined the cause of death as strangulation and the manner of death as homicide, in regard to the death investigation of an infant found at the Salvation Army Store at 1080 S. Barrington Road.

The Streamwood Police Department has activated the Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) and is urging the public for assistance in helping to locate the mother of the deceased infant.  It is believed that the mother gave birth between 10:15-11:15 am in the store washroom, and may have entered the store with another woman and child.  The mother has been described as a female, Hispanic, roughly 5'1" - 5'4", with dark brown hair, last seen wearing a purple, hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants, a lime green jacket, dark suede boots, and a large purple/red purse.
