Police File Homicide Charges in Infant Death

Streamwood detectives will appear in bond hearing this afternoon at the Rolling Meadows Court House with Jessica Cruz, a 19-year old Hanover Park woman, charged with First Degree Murder and Concealment of a Homicidal Death in the death of her infant son who was found deceased on Friday, November 4, 2011, inside the restroom of the Salvation Army Store, located at 1080 S. Barrington Road.

After four days of thorough investigation, Streamwood detectives, with the assistance of the Major Case Assistance Team and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, interviewed dozens of witnesses and amassed a large amount of physical evidence prior to filing these charges in this very unfortunate, and tragic incident.
