Police File Charges in Armed Robbery Cases

Streamwood detectives have filed criminal charges in the Armed Robberies of both the Dairy Queen Store, 140 N. Barrington Road on November 14, 2011 and the Burrito Bronco Restaurant, 1040 E. Schaumburg Road, on November 9, 2011.

An officer on patrol spotted one of these offenders attempting to escape from the Dairy Queen robbery and radioed for assistance.  Additional officers responded to the scene and located an additional offender attempting to escape in a getaway vehicle.  A K-9 Unit later located the first suspect hiding underneath an adjacent garden shed.

In addition, one of these offenders was linked to last week's robbery at the Burrito Bronco.  Additional robbery charges may also be filed in neighboring jurisdictions concerning other robberies.

Miguel Lopez, a 20 year old Streamwood resident, was charged with one count of Armed Robbery and Alejandro Avalos, a 19 year old Streamwood resident, was charged with two counts of Armed Robbery.
