Streamwood Police Conduct Armed Robbery/Homicide Investigation

At 4:36 am on March 16, 2013 Streamwood police and fire department personnel were dispatched to Thornton’s Gas Station located at 2 North Barrington Road in Streamwood for a person bleeding from his chest. Upon their arrival, emergency personal located the 24 year old clerk who had been stabbed several times in his chest and was bleeding profusely. Paramedics transported the victim to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates where he was pronounced deceased at 5:28 am. Members of the Major Case Assistance Team are assisting the Streamwood Police Department with this investigation.
The victim, Anandkumar Jaiswal, 24 years of age from the 0-100 Block of North Park Boulevard in Streamwood was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office. An autopsy will be performed by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office on Sunday March 17, 2013. Thornton’s Inc. is offering up to $5,000.00 reward for information that leads to the arrest of this offender.
These photos are of the offender. He is dressed in dark clothing, has his face and hands covered and is wearing one white shoe and one dark colored shoe. The offender appears to be a white male approximately 5’ 9’’- 6 feet tall holding a large knife. Robbery seems to be the motive as the offender is observed on video removing currency from the cash register. An autopsy was conducted by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office on March 17, 2013. The cause of death was determined to be homicide and the manner was determined to be stabbing and incise wounds.
