Chimney Fire at 367 Wisteria Drive

At 9:34 pm on October 6, the Streamwood Fire Department responded to a report of a chimney fire at 367 Wisteria Drive. The building is occupied by a four unit townhouse.

Upon arrival, the firefighters reported fire showing on the north side of the building. Fire crews utilized a hand line to extinguish the fire. The fire damaged the exterior of the building surface. There was no further extension, and limited damage occurred to the interior of the building. Fire investigators are currently evaluating the fireplace to determine the cause of the fire. Damage to the building is estimated at $15,000.  No injuries occurred. The alarm was upgraded to a working fire and the Streamwood firefighters were assisted by Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and East Dundee.  Barrington and South Elgin covered Streamwood stations during the incident.
