In conjunction with the Attorney General’s Office, the Streamwood Police Department will be hosting a free seminar for senior citizens – “Protect Yourself from Scams” on Saturday, March 28, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Streamwood Police Department, 401 East Irving Park Road in Streamwood.
 
Representatives from the Attorney General’s office will be presenting information on some of the most common scams committed against seniors including:

·     Grandparents Scam
·     Prizes/Sweepstakes/Free Gifts Scam
·     Home Improvement Scams
·     Charity Scams
·     Mortgage/Reserve Mortgage Scams
·     Computer Tech Support Scams
·     Wandering Contractors (Gypsy Crime) Scams
·     Bereavement Scams
 
Protect your finances! Come and learn what to look for and how not to be a victim of these and other crimes.
