Streamwood Police Investigate a Robbery by Police Impersonator

The Streamwood Police Department is investigating a reported Robbery which occured during the late afternoon hours of Thursday, August 6th on a residential street near Schaumburg Rd. and Route 59.

According to the victim, she was traveling alone in her vehicle on a side street when she was stopped by who she thought was a police officer driving an "unmarked" dark colored Ford with a red and blue light bar activated on the dashboard.

She further described the offender as a male Hispanic in his 20's, large build, dressed in a navy blue uniform shirt and pants. During the traffic stop the offender identified himself as a Streamwood Police Officer and ordered the victim out of her car. At which time, offender took the victim's purse removing an undetermined amount of USC.
