Jr. Police Academy Camp

The Junior Police Academy Camp will be held at the Streamwood Police Department over five days from Monday, July 19 to Friday, July 23, 2021 from 9 am - 1 pm.  Activities will include:  Simulated Crime Scene Investigation and Evidence Collection techniques, Simulated Traffic Stops and Crime Interdiction as well as a number of activities designed to engage our Officers with your child.  Topics discussed in the camp will include:  Internet Safety, Bicycle Safety, Introduction to Patrol Operations and Investigations and Introduction to Specialized Police Units within the department (i.e. K-9, Special Weapons and Tactics, Police Social Workers and the Records Department).  Participants should be entering 6th, 7th or 8th grade and need to have the recommendation of a teacher, school staff member or clergy member on the application form (no recommendation letter needed, only a signature).  Any questions should be directed to Commander Mike Schwartz at (630) 736-3776 or mschwartz@streamwood.orgAll applications are due by Friday, June 18.  Please email completed applications to or they can be turned in at the Streamwood Police Department.  Class size may be limited and acceptance will be based on the order in which the applications were received.  You will be notified via email or by phone if you have been accepted to the camp.  Please click here for an application.
