Our Citizens Police Academy offers residents new insights into how police officers perform their duties and serve the community.  It is also a great way to foster better communication between citizens and police through education.  The Academy consists of ten classes focused on topics such as Crime Scene Preservation, Neighborhood Based Policing, Traffic Stops, Special Operations, Domestic Violence Investigations, and more.

The 2021 Citizens Police Academy will be held Monday evenings beginning August 16 and ending October 25 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

Generally, any citizen residing within the Village of Streamwood and is 18 years of age or older is welcome to apply to be accepted to the class. Applicants will receive a thorough investigation, and a class list will be established. Applications are available at Village Hall, the Streamwood Police Department or online; you may download an application here.
