The Streamwood Police Department is honored to host a Citizen's Police Academy annually. The Citizen's Police Academy offers insight on how different division with the police department operate.

The Citizen's Police Academy will meet one evening per week for ten weeks. Each evening will be approximately two hours consisting of lecture, discussion, and practical role-play scenarios.

Topics include:
  • Patrol/Traffic Stops
  • Investigations
  • Crime Scene/Forensics
  • Domestic Violence Response
  • Ue of Force
  • Crisis Intervention
  • K9 Units
  • Social Services
The Citizens Police Academy is usually held Monday evenings, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Our 2022 Academy scheduled to begin August 15 has been postponed. Future Academy dates will be released at a later time.

Applications are available at Village Hall, the Streamwood Police Department or online; you may download an application off our website when the next Citizens Police Academy is scheduled.
