Ordinances passed to allow local hearings for certain ordinance violations
Release date: 8/31/2010
The Village Board passed ordinances to allow local hearings for certain ordinance violations at its August 5, 2010 meeting. Court tickets issued by police and code enforcement officers are generally sent for hearings at the Cook County Courthouse in Rolling Meadows. The new ordinance allows some code violations to be heard by a local hearing officer. This should be more convenient to our residents as it provides an opportunity to have a hearing locally heard, and does not necessitate taking time off work. It will also ensure that local violations are quickly resolved.
If you have any questions regarding the new procedures, please see our website, or call the Police Department at (630) 736-3700.
