Vandalism - The parent or legal guardian of a minor (less than 18 years of age) shall be liable for any fine, condition, restitution, or reparation imposed by a court upon a minor.
Alcoholic Beverages - Parents and other adults over the age of 21 are held responsible for the possession of alcoholic beverages by minors. It is unlawful for parents and other adults to allow the possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages by minors on premises owned or occupied by the parents or adults.
Tobacco Products - Under this ordinance it is unlawful for any person under the age of 21 to purchase or possess tobacco products or to misrepresent their age or identity for the purpose of purchasing tobacco products. It is also makes sale of tobacco products to minors unlawful. A sales person must request photographic identification with proof of age if he or she has reason to believe a minor is attempting to purchase tobacco products.
Curfew - People under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on public property or in any place of business or amusement in Streamwood after 12:00 am (midnight) on Friday and Saturday and 11:00 pm on all other days of the week.
Use of ATVs and Motorbikes - These vehicles are prohibited from public roads, paths, or sidewalks unless involved in a Village-authorized parade, used by government employees for official tasks, or for medical necessity. Riding on private property is only allowed with the property owner's consent. Vehicles must be driven carefully and at safe speeds without endangering others or damaging property. Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that minor children follow these rules. Failure to do so may result in citations with fines of up to $750.
