Investigations are assigned to our Special Operations Unit (SOU) and comprise of one commander, one sergeant, and five general case detectives.

Detectives receive specialized training in:

  • Homicide Investigations
  • Juvenile Investigations
  • Crimes Against Children
  • Trauma Informed Response to Sexual Assault and Abuse
  • Internet Investigations

General case detectives are commonly assigned cases involving, but not limited to:

  • Fraud/Identity Theft
  • Burglary
  • Robbery
  • Theft
  • Criminal Sexual Assault and Abuse
  • Unlawful Use of a Weapon
  • Child Abuse or Neglect

Additionally, this unit is responsible for sex offender registration. 

The Tactical Unit's primary functions include:

  • Gang and drug suppression
  • Criminal suppression and interdiction
  • Firearm crime investigation
  • Proactive patrol

 The unit is comprised of two detectives.
