The Village has issued permits to Ezee Fiber, Ripple Fiber, Lumos Fiber and AT&T to begin installing fiber internet in Streamwood.  If you have any questions or concerns about construction, or if there is damage to a private underground system (e.g., lawn sprinklers), please contact them directly. Please be assured that restoration of all parkways, and any other disturbances, will be completed by these contractors, weather dependent.

2026 Watermain Improvements

The water main improvements have been completed on Garden Cir (Bode Rd to Glendale Ct).

2026 Various Concrete Repairs

Week of 8-10-26

The contractor, Dinatale Construction, will be completing various concrete repairs around the Village. All residents affected by the work have been notified via letter.

All residents affected have been asked to please not park on the street during construction hours are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 6pm. The contractors are allowed to work on Saturdays, from 8 am to 4 pm. Overnight parking is allowed if you do not have driveway access until the completion of the work.

2026 Road Program

Week of 8-10-26

The contractor, Schroeder Asphalt Services, will be grinding the top 2 inches off the pavement on Hartwood Dr, Oriole Dr (Hartwood Dr to Sunnydale Blvd), and Moore Ave. The grinding is scheduled to be completed on Monday, August 10^th.

The Public Work’s Street Department will be paving the first and final layer of asphalt on Hartwood Dr and Oriole Dr this week. They will be spraying fresh oil prior to the paving. The residents on each street will be notified prior to each phase of work.

Please do not park on the street during the construction hours which are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 6pm. The contractors are allowed to work on Saturdays, from 8 am to 4 pm. Please exercise caution while driving through the construction area as there are trucks and other equipment on the road.

2026 Road Resurfacing Program

Week of 5-26-26

The Public Works Street Department will be paving the second layer of asphalt on Deerfield Dr on Tuesday, May 26^th. The first layer of asphalt on Big Oaks Rd will be paved on Wednesday, May 27^th, and second layer on Thursday, May 28^th. Please follow all signs and drive with caution during paving operations. All residents were notified and were asked not to park on the street during construction hours. Construction hours are from 7 am to 6 pm.

Schroeder Asphalt will be full depth patching the pavement where the water main trench was excavated on Garden Cir. The work will take place on Wednesday, May 27^th. Please exercise caution during the patching operations. The Construction hours are from 7 am to 6pm.

2026 Various Concrete Repairs

Week of 5-26-26

The contractor, Dinatale Construction, has completed the concrete work for the first round of streets. All landscape restoration has been completed. The concrete construction will resume at the end of June.

2026 Watermain Improvements

The contractor, Bluewater Construction, has completed the installation of the new water main on Garden Cir from Bode Rd to Glendale Ct. The contractor has completed the connection of the new water main to all services to each home.  All landscaping restoration has been completed. The landscape company will be watering the new topsoil and seed over the next few weeks.

The Village has been working since 2019 on the implementation of a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Route 59 to improve connectivity in our community. This spring, work will start on the project. Work includes boardwalks through the wetlands, connecting with a steel truss bridge over Route 59. The boardwalks will tie into the existing path system on the west side of Route 59. The Village will also be working to install a path along Madison Drive to connect with the boardwalks, park and path system along Irving Park Road.

The initial work will include site prep, utility work and installing foundations for the boardwalk. Due to the steel material lead time, the prefabricated steel bridge portion of the project over Route 59 is anticipated to begin in September of 2025 and be completed by the end of 2025.

This new multi-use path is a key part of Streamwood’s long term Comprehensive Plan goal to increase connectivity and safe transportation options by establishing additional paths in the Village. The project is a joint effort with support from multiple agencies including the Village of Streamwood and funding from the Federal government, the Illinois Department of Transportation and Cook County.  For more information regarding the project, click here.

2025 Irving Park Widening Phase 3

Current schedule is dependent on ComEd relocating their utilities. 

 We hope ComEd returns soon and the contractor can follow up with wrapping up the project in the fall.
